i am trying to get some information about my grandpa his name was russel rhodes he lived in lewistown for as long as i can remember. i am trying to find out what kind of military honors he got and where an when they had rhodes trucking
I knew of the Rhodes. There trucking business was right across from my ex-inlaws service station in Lewistown. It was located on South Illinois street. Russell was married to ClaraDelle and had a daughter Janice that I went to school with. Might of been other children but they would have to of been older. Russell passed away in the past 6-7 yrs I believe. He had a brother Raymond. Not for sure how Gerald Rhodes fits in but know he is relation. This was a very nice family, couldn't ask for better people. Is this who you are looking for? As far as milatary..........I belong to the Lewistown VFW Ladies and formerly the Lewistown American Legion Ladies. A letter or phone call might get the info you want. Also I know they were very active in church and scouting.

You are very welcome. Gerald would certainly have alot of answers for you. You are a Diden? It is sounding familiar.............Funny how you lose track of things once you move.
I was just thinking, if you have a copy of the obit, it should tell you if military rites were given and by who. If so contact who gave them, such as VFW or Amer Legion.
