Browns in Fulton Co.

I am looking for any help on my Brown line. I know my gr.gr. grandfather came from England, William Brown, married a Mary Clannin from Vermont-Ipava area.  So apparently he came to illinois and found his bride,. he then had a son William George born in Illinois 1866 who worked as a flagman on a railroad. William George died May 1932. He was married to Victoria Weese , dau of Patterson Weese of Vermont-Ipava area. William George and Victoria Brown had sev children, one was John Alfred who was my grandfather m. to Sarah A Clark and lived in Lewistown. My father was Lewis Clark Brown and also lived in Lewistown. If anyone can get me anything past my dad's line, I'd be ever so greatful.  I have some on my grandfather's generation, not much. But do know at some point he did live in Liverpool. Am quite sure no relation to Ralph and Vada Brown.

Goodmorning-  I had some time on my hands this  morning and worked on your Brown line.   I know how hard the name is to research as I have worked on my Brown family in Texas (no relationship)

If you don't have this information it may give you a start.

You might look in to the idea that William may have died and she remarried.  Check-DAY, THOMAS                          BROWN, MARY A MRS                    06/10/1877 00E/0061 00000162 FULTON

1880 United States Federal Census > Illinois > Fulton > Canton > District 35     showes a Mary Day with children  Henry W. age 14 -William F.age 12  and Virginia  age 8 years

This is just a suggestion!

Thank you so much for yr help. I have some of that info but what I didn't and found quite interesting was the 1920 census, as William G and Victoria only had three daughters.  So am wondering who these people are.  Yes the Clarks are relation also. Double cousins, the Browns married the Clarks. I have thought perhaps even  a remarriage in the family. Just cannot seem to get anything on William George siblings or parents except their names. But.........am hanging in there.  So you are in the Brown search also. Such a common name so hard........

Thanks again, I appreciate any and all help.

Browns in Fulton county go as far back before 1860. My gr gr gr gr aunt (Jane Ann Stokoe) married James Brown from Ohio in 1860. I too am seeking information of Jane & James family.

I, too, have a James Brown of Fulton County in my ancestors.  He married Sara (Sally) Barrows.  Their daughter Minerva Brown Walker, wife of Joshua Givens Walker,  is my great-great grandmother.
James and Sara were from Maine originally, and came to Lewistown township in1828, (by way of Ohio, I think),  according to a Walker family genealogy.  I haven't found them in any Illinois records, but would like some help if anyone has any information on this Brown family.  James and Sara had eleven children, so there might be someone somewhere with the same Brown family.
