???? Brown

I am trying to find any information on my real Great Grandfather.  All that I know is that his last name was Brown and he lived in Smithfield.  He lived around the area that is now Oak and Liberty street in a quonset shaped house.  The house is no longer there.

My Great Grandmother's name was Eva.  She cleaned houses for people in Smithfield at the time (around 1913).  Mr. Brown was one of the people she cleaned for; he ended up getting her pregnant ( she was around 17 years old).  He would not leave his wife to marry Eva, but he gave her permission to use his name for the baby.  For some reason she did not use his name, instead afellow by the name of Clark McCance stepped in and took credit for it.  Eva never married Clark, but she named the baby Dale Clark McCance.  Dale was born in 1914.  Later Eva married Floyd Manion.

I am not sure how old Mr. Brown was; I was told that his wife was in poor health at the time.  Does anyone have any information that might help me?  Does anyone know what his first name was?

Thanks,
chuckieboy78
