I am looking for any information on the ROGERS, RODGERS family in Fulton, County, Illinois. Here is some of the information that I have:
George Washington Rogers: Born 3/9/1856 in Fulton County, IL - Died 12/18/1939 in Omaha, NE
At 5 years of age he moved with his parents to LeSeur, MN, then came in a covered wagon to Saunders County, NE in October 1864. In 1886 he married Clara Kingery and they lived in Yutan until 2/15/1919 when they moved to a farm west of Ashland, NE
Parents: Michael Rogers and Mary Ann (Kingery) Rogers
Michael Rogers: (I don't have as much information about him) Died 1895 in Platte County NE He married Mary Ann Kingery in 1850 in Harrison County, IN. They came to Saunders County, NE in 1864 and homesteaded 2 miles north of Yutan, NE. they later moved to Platte County, NE where MIchael died. Mary Ann returned to Saunders County and lived with her son, Henry, near Memphis NE until her death. Mary Ann and Michael had 12 children but the only 2 with a record are Henry and George.
I am stuck and am trying to get beyond Michael. He served in the 85th Illinois Infantry in the civil war and marched with General Sherman through Atlanta to the sea. I believe that his father was Jenkins Rogers or Jenkins Rogers Jr. Some of these folks have added a "D" in the name (RODGERS). Any help and assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Ihave a little info on the Rogers Family. A Frank Rogers married Orena or Rena Greenwell some time around 1890 (sorry don't have a date) they had 2 girls Amber M Rogers 1891-1988 married an Anderson (sorry no first name) and Carrie Alice Rogers 1889-1986 married Leon Albert Smith. Carrie has 1 daughter still living (age 94) lives in Farmington IL. Amber Smith Lercher.
