Seeking info. On Charles E. Johns b. c.1847, Glasford, Peoria Co., IL or c.1850 Coalmine, MO / d. c.1890 (?). I have nothing concrete but it appears his family may have traveled between Missouri and Fulton Co & Peoria Co., IL several times throughout the years. He was married to Eunice Griggs b. 10 Mar 1851 Glasford, Peoria Co., IL / d. 29 Jul 1931 Galesburg, Knox Co, IL. At the time of her death, she was married to James Joseph Knight. Charles may have also been married to Emma M. Grigsby (m. 13 Dec. 1872) prior to marriage to Eunice. One of Eunice & Charles children was my great-grandfather, Thomas R. Johns b. 10 Jun 1886 MO / d. 21 Jul 1970 Fulton Co, IL.

Downs on the deadfred website and the man looks so much like my Grandfather. It really took my breath away when I saw the family resemblance. Unfortunately the man who posted it doesn't know anything about him, other than his name and the county the photographer worked out of. It is a great idea having a site like that. I know we found tons of old pics at one time and had no idea who they were. It breaks my heart to see old pics like that sell at auctions. All those wonderful memories... no one left to enjoy them or tell everyone else who the people in them are.
I don't have much on Charles E Johns, but Thomas R. Johns is my great grandmothers' brother. Her name was Ona Johns and she married Lewis Allen Pierce.
