HOYT 1850's/1860's

Hi all

I am looking for information on Abrham Hoyt (my 2X Grandfather) he was born about 1837 in Ohio (I believe) and died in the battle of Vicksburg in 1863. He and his family lived in Avon Il, sometime around the 1850's into the mid 1860's. His wife's name was Sophia (maiden name was Hall) born about 1838 in New Jersey (I think). The had a son named Johnathan (born abt 1858) and a daughter named Mary (born abt 1860).

Thanks for any help
Hank

Sophia remarries to a Joshia M. Ward 01/06/1869 Fulton County, Illinois
They have a daughter Sophia Ward.
Have you sent for Abrahams compiled military records? Sophia put in a pensioner claim. There can be alot of info in those. I learned that my gr-gr-grandfather was acting as a nurse while wounded.
If you haven't done that, there is historysites. com that is alot cheaper than NARA.
Another site if you are not familiar with is the cyberdriveillinois, it has different databases on it you can search IE, marriages, deaths 1916-1949, court cases and etc.
And many other things you can explore on there.
I am not researching this family just helping out.                        Deb
