BENTON, SMITH, WEAVER, DEEMS, HAIR, SCOTT, DOOLEY

According to Fulton Co. History and my research, Horatio John BENTON b. 29 Dec 1819 came with his widowed mother (no name) in 1835 to Fulton Co. from Philadelphia, PA. Moved to Warsaw, Hancock, IL at age 16. He attended Jackson College in Jacksonville, IL in 1836. In 1839 he was first teacher in Village of Bader at age 20. 16 May 1842 he married Harriet PIERCE in Schulyer Co., IL at age 23. In 1845 he was teaching at Ridgeville in Schuyler Co, unknown if any children from this marriage, don't know if he was divorced or widowed. 27 July 1845 he married Mrs. Eliza GARREL DOOLEY who had William DOOLEY from previous marriage. Mr. BENTON and Eliza had George W. b. 1847, John H. in 1849. Mr. BENTON shows up in Schuyler Co. with his family and is a teacher, also shows up in a boarding house in Fulton Co. as teacher the same year. Shortly thereafter they were divorced. Mr. BENTON then married Mrs. Marian Lee SMITH WEAVER who was a widow and had son George F. WEAVER by her husband Phillip WEAVER who died in the cholera epidemic in 1851. History book says that Marian was the daughter of General SMITH of Hancock Co. (I can't find her on ancestry.com with WEAVER in 1850 census if anyone can help here, would appreciate it.) Mr. BENTON and Marian had Mary Ann who married Elijah Ebenezer HAIR, Charles Edwin who married Jeanette SCOTT, and Laura Alice who married Thomas DEEMS. In 1860 census there was also a Mary FINLEY who was a domestic (If anyone knows this lady would like to know). In 1861 Mr. BENTON was an assessor in Astoria Twp. In 1869 he was the Fulton County Superintendent of Schools. In 1870 & 1880 they lived in Lewistown. In 1888 Marian died of breast cancer and the funeral was officated by J.M.D. Davidson who eventually married Widow Mary Ann BENTON HAIR daughter of Mr. & Mrs. BENTON. Mr. BENTON died at age 70, 7 Sep 1889 in the home of his daughter Mrs. Alice DEEMS. Mr. BENTON was a Mason & Odd Fellow. I am a descendant of Mary Ann & Elijah HAIR. Marian Lee SMITH'S parents are eluding me. Really would like some help on SMITH. Also searching for decendants of Charles Edwin BENTON, who lived in Los Angeles, CA. Would like contact with DEEMS researchers also if out there. Hello are their any WEAVER descendants out there also?
