NEVILLE/ MCMAHAN

My great-great-great- grandparents, Johanna McMahon Neville and Patrick Neville, came from County Limerick, Ireland and  settled in Fulton county (Joshua township originally, then Canton).  Along with Patrick and Johanna came 13 children-one of them being my great-great grandfather, James Neville  Records state that the family stayed in Maryland for approximately 10 years before purchasing land in Joshua township.  Johanna's brother, Thomas McMahon and his family came with Patrick and Johanna and settled in Joshua township as well.  There is indication from marriage records that some intermarriage occured between the cousins in the decades of 1840-1850.  Hence, there is a strong connection between the groups.  Some other names that would be connected to these families are Poisett, Emery,McNamara,Cronnan.
