Have you looked in any Census to see which are from where perhaps? I guess a good place to start would be to have a few names and see what you have and need. Have you been able access Ancestery.Com?

YES I HAVE CHECKED THE CENSUS AND LOOKED IN ANCESTRY AND THE ONLY PROBLEM IS AS I AM SURE WITH MOST FAMILIES, THEY NAMED ALL THE MALES WITH THE SAME NAMES. SO THERE ARE 6 OR 7 THOMAS HARWICK'S, THERE ARE 6 OR 7 JACOB HARWICK'S, THERE ARE 6 OR 7 WILLIAM HARWICK'S THERE ARE 6 OR 7 HENRY HARWICK'S AND UNFORTUNATELY THE OTHER PROBLEM THAT I HAVE RAN INTO IS THAT ALL WERE BORN AROUND THE SAME TIME, OR THE INFORMATION THAT I HAVE IS WRONG OR I CAN NOT FIND THEM IN THE CENSUS AT ALL. OR I AM JUST A DUMMY AND I AM NOT THAT GOOD AT LOOKING AT THE CENSUS WHICH HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST. THIS HAS BEEN A VERY DIFFICULT FAMILY TO RESEARCH SO THAT IS WHY I AM LOOKING FOR ANY HELP. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND SUGGESTIONS AND I DO APPRECIATE ANYMORE THAT YOU MAY HAVE.

Yes I certainly know the first name problem............lol Same thing I have run into, too many George Browns.

Well, will put out some questions and see if I can come up with any leads. I am getting ready to send off for the Funeral Home book for Zimmerman in Lewistown yrs 1908-1936. You never know. Where exactly in Fulton Co. would these people be, any idea? Also, hope to soon make it back to Fulton Co Courthouse and Library in Canton to look up some things. Will add Harwick to the list, you never know. I am originaly from Fulton Co, but now live an hour away.

Any marriage licenses give you any good leads?

I have had good luck so let's cross our fingers.................

I HAVE NOT CHECKED INTO ANY MARRIAGE LICENSES YET. I GUESS THAT WOULD BE MY NEXT STEP. I HAVE GOTTEN ALL THE HARWICK INFO OF THE ILLINOIS DATA BASE THAT IS ON LINE, BUT THAT IS AS FAR AS I HAVE GOTTEN WITH THAT. I AM SPENDING AN AWFUL LOT OF MONEY BUYING THE DEATH CERTS RIGHT NOW TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE MYSTERY. THE HARWICK'S ARE FROM THE IPAVA AND LEWISTOWN AREA OF FULTON COUNTY.

YOU SAID THAT YOU WERE LOOKING FOR BROWN ANCESTORS FROM THAT AREA WHAT OTHER NAMES ARE YOU LOOKING FOR RELATED TO BROWNS? BECAUSE I HAVE BROWNS ON MY SIDE OF THE FAMILY TOO. BUT MINE ARE RELATED TO MARY ELIZABETH BROWN WHO MARRIED ALBERT ORLANDO ROOT. MARY ELIZABETH BROWN WAS THE DAUGHTER OF ARCHIBALD CAINE BROWN. THAT IS ALL I KNOW OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD. Yes the cert. can run into alot of money. Few yrs back they were very cheap, now I just paid two weeks ago $11 for a marraige cert. Do you get to Fulton Co?The courthouse?

If you can, give me a name you are certain with and dates..that could lead me somewhere. Also, do you know if any family member was buried in Lewistown area, or thru the Lewistown funeral home? I have a good source thru there that helps often.

Ok, the Browns are from the Lewistown/Ipava/Summum/Liverpool/area. My grgrandfather married a Victoria Weese in 1890. Her parents the Weeses, lived in Summum/Ipava area as many other relatives did. My problem is trying to figure out about my grgrgrandfather Brown who supposed to come from Eng. and married a Mary Clannin. I do know that (or pretty sure) a Matilda R Brown Lindsey was a sister to my William G. Brown(grgrandfather)No idea who else came over with him, which Browns in those yrs might be related. I'm stuck........lol So.......could be a connection. I know I have seen Harwick somewhere in my cem. searching/census/etc.

I LIVE IN COLORADO SO I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO ILLINOIS LET ALONE FULTON COUNTY. I WOULD LOVE TO VISIT THERE SINCE I HAVE SO MANY RELATIVES THAT ARE BURIED THERE AND THAT ARE FROM THERE. MOST OF MY RELATIVES ARE BURIED IN THE IPAVA CEMETERY, BAUGHMAN CEMETERY, OAKWOOD CEMETERY (HENRY COUNTY), GREENWOOD CEMETERY, LACEY CEMETERY, MONTGOMERY CEMETERY, HOWARD CEMETERY, CUBA CEMETERY, SMITH CEMETERY AND OAK HILL CEMETERY. I KNOW THE PEOPLE THAT ARE BURIED IN THESE CEMETERIES, DO YOU HAPPEN TO KNOW WHERE I MAY BE ABLE TO FIND SOMEONE THAT MIGHT TAKE SOME PICTURES OF HEADSTONES FOR ME. OR SHOULD I SAY MOST OF THE HARWICK'S AND OTHER RELATIVES IN THESE CEMETERIES. THERE MAY BE OTHER NAMES DOWN THE LINES THAT I AM NOT SURE OF YET. I HAVE SEVERAL NAMES AND DATES FOR HARWICK'S. Don't ya just hate when something is stuck on yr mind...........lol Believe it or not, I was working so hard on finding one little fact, I had a dream later that night I had gone to an aucton that had some of my aunts' stuff, and there was a folder with all kinds of papers, and when opened I looked directly onto the papaer that said............AND then I woke up! Grrrrrrrrrr!

Anyway, I will contact yr email. I go to Fulton Co a couple of times a month, need to go soon actually to pick up something. On my trips I will try different cem and get some pics. Slow process but I enjoy doing it. Last yr we were in the Ipava cem's. I remember Lacesy esp. So.........if you're not in a hurry I can help! My folks are in Oak Hill so always go thru there. Prob with Oak is no markers. It's a search thing.

I have an obit for Imogene Harwick m. Chenowith and Devota Harwick m. Miller.
They were sisters and their father was Obie Floyd Harwick

I had gotten sidetracked and changed internet etc, so behind in a lot of things. Besides Harwick, who else are you needing headstone pics for? Have you seen listings of the cem in fulton co.? They are on another site if you have not yet found them. Otherwise, here is my email I am now using solely, let me know who's stones you need. Will be heading over to Fulton County soon.
