This postcard was sent to my grandmother 6-8 wks before she became pregnant with my uncle. She was not married nor was the father's name on the birth cert. Just father's age of 21. Anyway, I have looked with and without magnifyer, and still come up with Eary Woff. This is a copy as my cousin has the original and we hesitate to send thru mail for losing it.(would be our luck) I have started looking for the Woff name in Fulton Co.
The postmark also tends to be Pekin, Tazwell Co. From my thinking, this man will meet her and states at Hollis. Is this what I know as Timber Hollis? It is tween Banner and Pekin. Apparently a train stopped thru there. Will appreciate any opinions on this!
I to have a post card from a Wolf in Pekin. Are you related to a joey Wolf? My grandmothers maiden name was Wolf she is buried at Bryant cemetery. She married a Walter Carson who was killed in a mine accident and left her with 3 childern. Catherin Thomas and Lilly Bell Carson. Tammy Bolton in Canton is doing a Newlin book but has lots of information on the Wolfs.
What year was yr postcard sent and did it have a picture on it of two young men? Long shot here perhaps! To my knowledge no relation, but apparently this man knew my grandma . Some of Grandma's family is in Bryant cem., the Clark side. Lily Bell sure sounds familiar. Did she marry a Clark? I will look up as have the site and cem saved. If only we could connect this "Eary Woff" as the same person or family. Do you know this Tammy Bolton? Would love any help I can get. Might be a long shot but this Eary Woff could be the father of my grandmother's first child. He'd of been 21 yrs old in Sept. of 1914.
Lillian Charron, 88, formerly of 460 S. Avenue A, died at 6:37 a.m. Sunday, June 27, 1999, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home. Born Feb. 19, 1911, in Bryant to Walter and Edith Wolf Neff Carson, she married Lucian Bearce. She later married Joseph Charron in Peoria in 1943. He died in 1957. She also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Surviving are one son, Mark Bearce of Canton; one daughter, JoAnn Johnson of Canton; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
I wonder if Eary Woff could be "James Ervin Wolf" b. 9 Apr 1895 in Pekin. "Ervin was a brother to Daisy Alice Wolf.
