Looking for Wm. T. Murphy

I am looking for information on my Great Grandfather Wm. T. Murphy, born in Canton, ILL, March 9, 1871.  I am trying to determine if he is of direct decendency from Ireland, or least first generation born of Irish parents and, if so, what county in Ireland.  I believe he is buried in Greenwood Cemetary, date of death believed to be 1933.  Also, he married Mary Edith Spencer on March 6, 1904.

I found William T. Murphy in the 1910 census Fulton County, Illinois, Canton with Mary E & 3 children. It has them married 6 years 3 children 3 living. Noted that Wm listed ast M2 or marriage # 2.  Did not find him in 1900. You need to make a real hunt as that census gives lots of info.

I found a William T with a Darcy & Sarah and 6 other children  in Fulton County Illinois, Canton. Both parents list being born in Ireland.  James (25) lists being born in Liverpool. (Probably England)  Next Edward (29) and the rest of the siblings list Illinois as birthplace. Therefore my best guess would be that they came from Ireland by way of Liverpool arriving in the US between 1855 and 1860.  Don't know how relavant.this but in 1900 found a Sarah in Livingston County IL. list as widow and immigration as 1854. .

Hope this is helpful

Ruth
