CIVIL WAR

I in my quest for Fulton County ancestors came across a site that had the reistration/draft/enlistment, whatever they were called in the Civil War, with information on different people that had signed up.  It was done in Lewistown and had all the vitals on them etc.  The problem is like so many sites......I can't remember where I "hit" that one.  Has anyone else come across that site of records or know of a site that would have the cards on it??  At the time I was not as far into research as I am now and didn't realize how great they were  :(   HELP!!!!!

Hello, you might try this site, it is the Illinois State Archives. It has the muster and roll. for Illinois in the Civil war.   http://www.sos.state.il.us/departments/archives/archives.html

Hello-  I like this site for finding civil war people.  It is nice as it helps in telling what battles and areas the particular company fought.  http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/    Good luck in your research.   What are your names,  I could look them up in the Chapmans History of Fulton County 1879 if there aren't too many.   Sincerely  Karen Morlan
