In 1852-53 James Stokoe and family immigrated from England to Farmington Illinois. It is said that upon arrival he stayed with his sister and brother-in-law in Farmington whom apparently arrived there earlier. I have know idea what his sisters' first name was or what her married name was. Can anyone help? has anyone seen any documentation reguarding a women prior to 1854 with the maiden name Stokoe?
