Myron, son of Charles and Catherine Coplinger Wheeler, was born April 18, 1848 near Lewistown and died at his home north of Bernadotte, Jan. 30, 1932. He was the youngest of four children, one of whom survives, Mrs. Catherine Ervin of Bushnell. The deceased was united in marriage to Amanda Anderson, March 11, 1873. To this union were born seven children, three having preceded him in death. The widow, three daughters and one son survive. Mrs. Hattie Miller of Ipava, Mrs. Alta Chambers and Mrs. Addie Brooks of Smithfield and Ralph Wheeler of Smithfield survive; also thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Death of Myron Wheeler Myron Wheeler passed away suddenly on Saturday at his home near Bernadotte from heart failure, at the age of 84 years. He was a prosperous farmer and had lived near Bernadotte and Smithfield since a young man. He was born April 18, 1848, and was a son of Charles and Catherine Wheeler. He and his brother John in early life settled in Fulton County. He was married 62 years ago to Amanda Anderson, who survives with the following children: Mrs. Alta Chambers, Mrs. Addie Brooks and Ralph Wheeler near Smithfield and Mrs. Hattie Miller near Ipava. There are also 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral was held yesterday at the Presbyterian Church, conducted by Dr. G. D. Heuver ( this might also be spelled Houver), and burial was in the Ipava cemtery.

Mr. and Mrs. James Brooks and Mrs. Hattie miller were called to Prairie City Saturday on acccount of the death of the ladies mother, Mrs. Amanda Ann Wheeler. Frank Wheeler of Prairie City was in Ipava Sunday making arrangements for his mother, Mrs. Amanda Ann Wheeler's funeral, which was held in Ipava Tuesday.
Death of Amanda Ann Wheeler passed away Saturday night at 8:10 o'clock in Prairie City at the home of her son Frank Wheeler, aged 80 years, 7 months and 27 days. Amanda Ann Anderson was born July 12, 1854 in Bernadotte township, the daughter of Robert and Nancy Morgan Anderson and was married to Myron Wheeler 61 years ago. She was a descendant of the pioneers of that townhip. She has always lived in Bernadotte and Ipava vicinity and made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Alta Chambers in Ipava, until her death on last July 6th and then she was taken to the home of her son Frank Wheeler, where she has been tenderly cared for as she had suffered from a broken hip and a stroke of paralysis. She was the last of a family of twelve children. Surviving is one son, Frank Wheeler of Prairie City, two daughters, Mrs. Addie Brooks of Smithfield and Mrs. Hattie Miller, near Ipava, besides grandchildren and great grandchildren, a host of relatives and friends. There are four children deceased. The funeral was held from the Ipava Presbyterian Church Tuesday afternoon at 4:30, conducted by Mrs. J. G. Fouts and burial in the Ipava Cemetery.

Rites for Ipava Woman Tomorrow Ipava, Ill: March 11--(Special) Mrs Amanda Wheeler last survivor of a family of 12 children born to pioneers of this section, died Saturday at the home of her son, Ralph, Prairie City. Born July 12, 1854, in Bernadotte township, a daughter of Robert and Nancy (Morgan) Anderson, she was married 61 years ago to Myron Wheeler, who died Jan. 30, 1932. Children living are Ralph, Prairie City; Mrs Addie Brooks, Smithfield, and Mrs Hattie Miller, Ipava. One daughter, Mrs Alta Chambers, died July 6, 1934, and four other children preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 o'clock tomorrow morning at the Presbyterian church, the Rev. G D Heuver officiating. Burial will be in Ipava cemetery.
My interest is that my mother was Marjorie Wheeler daughter of George Sharland Wheeler and I am interested in the Wheeler family line. I have developed a fairly extensive Family Tree Maker file on many Wheeler's mostly from Fulton county.
Now, re: Myron Wheeler, it is slightly embarrassing, but there are two Myron Wheelers' and I see that on detailed inspection my Myron is not the one married to Amanda Anderson. My relative was married to Susan Fingel. Oddly, I also have two Cora Wheeler's in my file, Coral Ethel, my relation and Cora Louisa, your relation.
Interestingly, my uncle, Marvin DeVere Wheeler whom I corresponded with often, lived in Cuba all of his life. So, I keep researching your Myron, sort of part time, thinking that there is a very good chance there is a family tie-in some where.
Yes, he was born in New York, lived in Deerfield & Joshua for many years (1850, 1860, 1870), then travelled to Kansas & Nebraska in 1874. He died in Nebraska in 1927.
