I'm searching for more info about our family tree & Fulton Countys background and its history in general. There are several one-stop ancestry shops on the web, but the ones I've tried seem to deliver a 'broad brush approach' with lots of details missing in Fulton and the Wilcoxen tree.
I would appreciate any books, web sites or good sources that would point me to the right direction. Thanks.
Hello Frank- I am new on this posting but would like to say I have a Chapman's History of Fulton County (1879) and an index for it. I can do lookups for anyone who is interested. Please send me the Main family name and a few first names and I will look. My Wilcoxen connection is with Deborah Wilcoxen Jennings Bybee. Her son by Daniel Jennings is my GG Grandfather James Jennings who married Mary Ann (Marjorie?) Bauman daughter of Eli A. Bauman and sister to Peter John Bauman and Samuel Bauman. My father was Leonard Charles Jennings and was born in 1886. I was born when he was 60 years old.
I don't believe I am of any relation to you, but saw your post about having a Chapman's History of Fulton County (1879). My My great-grandfather is Logan A. Johnson (born 1883 in Mapleton, Peoria County, Illinois) and was married to Agnes Cecilia Palmer from Canton, IL (born 22 August 1888). I don't know if there is any information on the Palmer family in your book, but anything would be appreciated.

There is a large group of Fulton County Wilcoxen families which are descended from Sarah Boone (yes, Daniel's sister) and John Willcoxson. I am descended from Dora Wilcoxen, who married into the Mellert family. This particular Fulton County Wilcoxen family has been researched extensively, in part because of the connection to the Boone family, and I have a great deal of this information.
