I believe my family may connect with William H. BREWER who married Almira MORGAN in Fulton County, Illinois on Jan. 10, 1878. They had a son William Roy "Leslie" BREWER who married Letha WHITTAKER.



W. R. Leslie BREWER died Nov 30, 1925 in Riverside Township, Adams County, Illinois and is buried in Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, IL. in Block B, Lot 39 with a military stone  MO Pvt.162 Depot Brig. Others buried there are:

Anna ST.CLAIR died Jan 26, 1938 - no stone
Bonita E. WHITTAKER died Feb 23, 1922- no stone
Elizabeth MORGAN died April 29, 1934


The back of the Greenmount Cemetery index card notes lot owner was James MORGAN and then the owner was Letha WHITTAKER BREWER MILLS. Last owners of the lot were Ora & Pansy BREWER, 4247 Descanso, Chino, Calif.


Could Almira MORGAN be Elmira MORGAN daughter of Jonas MORGAN born1800 in Shenandoah Valley, VA., lived in Fulton Co. IL. and had 12 children?

I have just started the Brewer line on my husbands side. Elmira was his g-g-grandmother.


This Elmira is the daughter of Jonas and Delila Morgan. Elmira b- 10/24/1850 d- 03/30/1925


I am still looking for her husband William Brewers death date.


She did marry a William Brewer but according to her obit in 1925 he had died many years before.


They had three children, 1 dying as an infant, Florence (g-grandmother) and a son Jonas.


Florence married Gus Larson, and Jonas never married. Elmira's father and mother dates are:


Jonas Morgan b- 09/12/1800  died at the age of 92y 4mos 3d


His wife Delila (Burge)  b- 04/05/1804 died 04/08/1895

This is Judi Gilker the current County Coordinator of Fulton County ILGenWeb.
Years ago I posted a query to Fulton Co. IL. Genealogy Forum regarding Jonas MORGAN's daughter Elmira (Ella) who married a William BREWER. You replied to my post in 2005. I would enjoy hearing from you and compare data. I believe my BREWER family connects to this MORGAN lineage. It might be possible my William BREWER is the same William that married Ella.
