Because I wrote a book about my service in the US Army in Germany, 1953-1955, and have a web site describing it, I have been contacted by Volker Hahn of Coelbe, Germany, who asked my assistance in finding out something about his father, John Henry Smith, who was from Avon, Illinois and was killed in an automobile accident in Germany in 1953.
